Everyday Green Smoothie

Making this Smoothie With a Purpose is an easy way to start the day, and it supports getting in some vegetables along with the fruit. Many health experts recommend striving for 7- 9 servings of Veggies and Fruits - EVERY DAY! Between the vitamins, minerals, phytonutrients, flavonoids, and antioxidants, fruits and vegetables are packed with healthy biochemical components.  

This smoothie is high in Vitamin A (beta-carotene from the carrots) Vitamin D, Vitamin B, Vitamin C, Potassium, Manganese, Zinc, and Chromium, plus Omega-3 healthy fats and fiber. Whether using fresh or frozen fruits and vegetables, the recipe for this yummy drink is loaded with whole food nourishment.

Everyday Green Smoothie

Serves: 2-3

Prep time 5 min.

Ingredients

1 cup base liquid (green tea or ginger tea)

½ cup pomegranate juice

1 banana

1 lemon peeled

½ avocado

1 peeled cucumber

1 inch raw ginger

2 peeled carrots

1-2 handfuls of greens 

2 tablespoons ground flax seed

2 packs Stevia 

1 cup ice

Filtered water as needed for desired thickness

Instructions

Step 1: Load a high powered blender, with the food as listed starting with liquid.

Step2: Blend for 4-5 min until smooth.  Add additional ice or water as needed for desired thickness.

Step 3: Divide into glasses and share with your favorite friends!

Tips: If you would rather not look at the green colored drink, use a solid colored glass.
