Do you sometimes wonder if you can get organized by yourself or if you’ll need someone’s help and, if so, who the best person might be? If that’s the case, this series will help you find your answer.

The following are the benefits of organizing on your own:

  • You can do it whenever you want. You don’t have to plan a time to organize if you don’t want to. You can just spontaneously decide today is the day, now is the time and just jump into it. You can stop whenever you want.

  • You set the pace. You determine how quickly or slowly you move through your things.

  • You make the decisions. Nobody is there to influence your decisions regarding matters like what to keep and what to let go.

If the above are positives for you, you may not need anyone's help and may be able to successfully accomplish your organizing goals on your own.

If you struggle with any of the above items, please continue reading the rest of this series to evaluate what kind of assistance, if needed, will best help you reach your organizing goals.

In upcoming parts of this series we’ll explore:

Part 3 - When to Get Organizing Help

Part 4 - Should I Get Organizing Help from My Spouse?

Part 5 - Should I Get Organizing Help from My Kids?

Part 6 - Should I Get Organizing Help from a Friend?

Part 7 - Should I Get Help from a Professional Organizer?
