Organizing and Storing Your Cleaning Supplies
Cleaning is definitely not my favorite thing to do, however, if I must, at least I can be organized about it!
Here are a few tips to remember when setting up your cleaning station:
1. Be Safe. Be sure to store your cleaning supplies out of reach of small children and pets. If you do not have a way to lock them up in a cabinet, then be sure to find a shelf high enough where they cannot be reached. You can purchase cabinet locks or drawer straps to be sure the littles are kept safe from toxins. Or, you can choose to use non-toxic cleaners such as Young Living's Thieves All Purpose Cleaner like I do.
2. Label your items well. It is best to keep your solutions in the original labeled bottle, however, if you decide to recycle a bottle, be sure to label what it is. The brand I use is concentrated so I usually split it up between three different bottles and label them for future use. My husband loves creating bleach bottles for outside cleaning and when he does not label them, it can be a disaster!
3. Pick one spot in your home to store all your cleaning tools. Here you can keep your cleaners, scrub brushes, rags, sponges, and solutions all in one place. Have a small caddy present to fill with whatever items you need depending on the room you are cleaning. This makes it handy to carry the items from room to room.
4. Designate a spot for larger cleaning items in the garage or spare closet. These would include your vacuum, steamers, mops, brooms, etc.
Happy organizing!
