Create a Family Organization Center in 30 Minutes!

You would be surprised what you can do in just 30 minutes when it comes to organizing.

One of my favorite tips on Home Organization is to create a family organization center or “communication center”.

Having a set place for your family to keep track of everyone’s schedule and activities can really help your family stay organized and feel more prepared for the week ahead.

I have a little nook off the side of our kitchen that was intended to be a half bath. I used two old filing cabinets and an old door we had in our garage to create a desk for our command center.

On the wall is a color-coded calendar by family member on the wall so everyone knows who is doing what on which day.

There is a cork board that holds notes, grocery lists, soccer schedule and a few cute photos. It is here where I organize our mail for everyone as well.

There is a RETURN box for any items that may have been left at our home by a friend or library book returns so I always know where to locate them.

Keeping scissors, pens, pencils, tape, and a stapler available for family use in a central place always helps.

Lastly, this is a great place for those families who want a charging station for all their phones when you prefer not keeping them in your bedrooms at night.

Happy Organizing!
